ESD Cover Tape Extenders are designed to extend cover tapes of a new SMD component reel, to save wasting several components when fitting to a feeder.

Description

When an SMD Tape, without leader, is to be fed into a pick & place machine the Cover Tape has to be pulled back to allow the advancing mechanism of a tape feeder to engage, which usually leads to the loss of several components.
With short SMD Tape lengths, expensive components or short production runs this is unlikely to be acceptable.
SMD Cover Tape Extenders provide the required extension with a non-adhesive, milky matt PET foil.
The yellow, self-adhesive section is permanently attached up to the black mark.

Available in a wide range of sizes: 8mm, 12mm, 16mm, 24mm, and 32mm. Made from soft and transparent PET, these extenders help reduce component reel waste. They can be used with either paper or plastic leader tape, and punched or formed pockets.
Our Splice Tape Extenders are easy to use; peel off the backing tape from the yellow adhesive end and attach to the Splice Leader tape
