Static sensitive components can be damaged by being handled while you are not properly grounded can be used together with special conductive floor tile as part of a comprehensive anti-static program. ESD heel straps allow freedom of movement around the shop environment without the restriction of a wrist strap ground cord leashing you to a bench. For complete anti-static protection, two anti-static heel straps are recommended. One ESD heel strap should be worn on each foot. Velcro straps are pulled over the top of the foot to secure the anti-static heel strap in place. The nylon ribbon should be tucked into your sock or into your shoe. The nylon ribbon should make contact with skin, or at minimum, with the sweaty moisture in your shoe in order to provide a path to ground for the static electricity.

Premium, durable ESD heel straps designed to be worn in an ESD working area. Our premium ESD heel straps are quick and easy to use and can be adjusted with the hook and loop fastener (D-ring). The heel strap is black conductive on the outside and white on the inside to avoid any shoe marking. Re-usable and designed to be long-lasting. ESD heel straps are available in standard and extra large sizes. The extra large heel strap has a plastic connector. The heel straps can be used in combination with all grounded ESD flooring and matting. All ESD heel straps incorporate a 1 Meg Ohm safety resistor and are made with a soft 2-layer rubber material. Hook loop tape’s coloures are available on request.
